Antigua Guatemala figura dentro del top 10 Destination Wedding Locations de ensueño según BRIDES y no es de extrañar ya que la ciudad colonial ofrece un sinfín de escenarios preciosos, entre vistas a tres inmensos volcanes, contando con Volcán de Fuego que por las noches ofrece un espectáculo con su erupción a lo largo del año. “¡Antigua enamora! EL CORAZÓN DE NUESTRAS CASAS

El Corazón de nuestras casas.

La historia de Kuxtal Residences empezó hace ocho años, cuando abrió sus puertas nuestra primera casa, Kuxtal La Antigua. Entonces acondicionamos un par de habitaciones en un ala que se cerró para darle privacidad. Aún así, la familiaridad fue parte de la experiencia desde un inicio: tanto que Bob, la mascota de la casa, salía a dar la bienvenida a nuestros primeros huéspedes y es protagonista de esos reviews que empezaron a llegar.

 

Al muy poco tiempo, la residencia entera se abrió a nuestros visitantes, que desde entonces han podido disfrutar de su estilo colonial: la casa ­­­–que se encuentra en el límite del casco antiguo de Antigua– tiene una fuente central, pilares españoles, mobiliario antiguo y hermosos textiles guatemaltecos. Sobre todo, posee un espíritu hogareño que abraza con todos sus detalles.

 

Luego vino nuestra segunda residencia, Kuxtal La Reunión: a 25 minutos de la ciudad de Antigua Guatemala, esta casa moderna, con pisos y techos de madera, se encuentra en un complejo de golf. Rodeada de verde por los campos y los árboles, y con una vista privilegiada de los volcanes, esta casa es un refugio en la naturaleza.

 

Y sin embargo, la propia fuerza de la naturaleza nos enfrentó a uno de los retos más grandes, cuando el 3 de junio del 2018 el volcán de Fuego hizo erupción, afectando a incontables familias guatemaltecas y arrasando parte del complejo de golf donde nos encontramos. A pesar de que la zona donde se encuentra nuestra casa nunca sufrió ningún daño, esto nos puso a prueba como colectividad y, con los años, nos hemos recuperado en conjunto: hoy en día, el campo de golf ha sido reconstruido; los negocios y los hogares estan floreciendo nuevamente, como una comunidad fortalecida por la tragedia.

 

Una tercera casa se construyó con una ubicación perfecta: Kuxtal Hermano Pedro se levantó a tres cuadras del parque central, en pleno casco antiguo. Desde ahí se puede caminar a cualquier lado y luego descansar en sus ambientes elegantes, con muebles de diseño contemporáneo.

 

La pandemia nos encontró afianzados: eso nos ayudó a poder mantener a todo nuestro personal, incluso en los momentos más complejos, algo que nos llena de orgullo. Si antes de la cuarentena nuestros huéspedes eran mayoritariamente extranjeros, en estos últimos años nuestras casas han recibido con alegría a muchos visitantes locales. No solo eso: Kuxtal La Reunión se ha convertido en uno de los recintos favoritos para organizar bodas en Guatemala. La pandemia nos ha hecho valorar aún más los eventos íntimos, cuidados, llenos de detalles y, sobre todo, en compañía de los más queridos. Para Kuxtal Residences, es un privilegio ser parte de esos momentos especiales.

 

Y es que la celebración está en el corazón de nuestro proyecto. Los socios son personas a quienes les encanta estar rodeadas de familia y amigos, celebrando la vida y disfrutando de una buena comida –y mejor si es compartida–. Las vivencias y las memorias en cada espacio son algo que marca el espíritu de nuestras casas.

 

Parte importante de nuestro crecimiento han sido las alianzas clave que hemos hecho con restaurantes que dan la misma calidad de atención. Durante la pandemia, buscamos dar una mano a estos locales que estaban luchando por subsistir, y empezamos a llevar a los chefs a nuestras residencias para promover sus cocinas y también para crear momentos únicos para nuestros huéspedes. Esa iniciativa fue el inicio de una experiencia gastronómica muy requerida por quienes nos visitan.

 

La atención también es parte central de la experiencia en Kuxtal Residences. Procuramos que sea personalizada, eficiente y agradable, y eso solo es posible de conseguir gracias a nuestro invaluable personal: muchos de nuestros colaboradores llevan años con nosotros, hemos crecido como un grupo unido.

 

Eso se refleja en el cuidado y cariño con el que se mantienen las casas y sus jardines. Nos fijamos en todo lo que ponemos. Hemos invertido en arte guatemalteco para nuestras habitaciones. Entre las amenidades, dejamos a los huéspedes una pulsera tejida de manera tradicional, para promover el trabajo artesanal de nuestra comunidad. Asimismo, les regalamos unas bolsas reusables, fabricadas por Creamos, una asociación de madres que se han unido para lograr la estabilidad financiera, emocional y física.

 

Dos casas más se encuentran en construcción, ambas en pleno centro histórico de Antigua: Kuxtal Nest, ideal para familias pequeñas o parejas que buscan una escapada romántica, y Kuxtal Tercera, para un grupo reducido. Y es que queremos seguir creciendo.

 

Nos enorgullece ser generadores de empleo, ser parte del motor del turismo interno e internacional, y compartir la belleza natural, histórica y artística de Guatemala. Queremos seguir recibiéndolos en nuestras casas para contar juntos nuestra historia.

The heart of our houses

The story of Kuxtal Residences began eight years ago, when our first house, Kuxtal La Antigua, opened its doors. Then set up a couple of rooms in a wing that was closed off for privacy. Even so, familiarity was part of the experience from the beginning, so much so that Bob, the house pet, came out to welcome our first guests and is the protagonist of the first reviews.

 

In a very short time, the entire residence was opened to our visitors, who have been able to enjoy its colonial style ever since: the house – located on the edge of Antigua's old quarter – has a central fountain, Spanish pillars, antique furniture, and beautiful Guatemalan textiles. Above all, it has a homely spirit that embraces with all its details.

 

Then came our second residence, Kuxtal La Reunión, 25 minutes from the city of Antigua Guatemala. This modern house, with wooden floors and ceilings, is located in a golf complex. Surrounded by green fields and trees, and with a privileged view of the volcanoes, it is a refuge in nature.

 

And yet, the very force of nature confronted us with one of the greatest challenges, when on June 3, 2018, the Volcán de Fuego (Fuego volcano) erupted, affecting countless Guatemalan families, and destroying part of the golf complex. Although the area where our house is located never suffered any damage, this put us to the test as a community and, over the years, we have recovered together. Today, the golf course has been rebuilt, businesses and homes are flourishing again, as a community strengthened by tragedy.

 

A third house was built with a perfect location. Kuxtal Hermano Pedro was built three blocks from the central park, in the heart of the old quarter. From there you can walk anywhere and then rest in its elegant rooms, with contemporary design furniture.

 

The pandemic found us firmly established; that helped us to be able to maintain all our staff, even in the most complex moments, something that fills us with pride. If before the quarantine our guests were mostly foreigners, in recent years our houses have welcomed many local visitors. Not only that, since Kuxtal La Reunión has become one of the favorite venues to organize weddings in Guatemala. The pandemic has made us value intimate events even more, with care, full of details and, above all, in the company of our most beloved. For Kuxtal Residences, it is a privilege to be part of those special moments.

 

And it is that celebration is at the heart of our project. The owners are people who love to be surrounded by family and friends, celebrating life, and enjoying good food –and better if it is shared–. The experiences and memories in each space are something that marks the spirit of our houses.

 

An important part of our growth has been the key alliances we have made with restaurants that provide the same quality of service. During the pandemic, we sought to lend a hand to these places that were struggling to survive, and we began bringing chefs to our residences to promote their kitchens and also to create unique moments for our guests. This initiative was the beginning of a gastronomic experience highly requested by those who visit us.

 

Attention is also a central part of the experience at Kuxtal Residences. We try to make it personalized, efficient and pleasant, and that is only possible thanks to our invaluable staff; many of our employees have been with us for years. We have grown as a united group.

 

This is reflected in the care and affection with which the houses and their gardens are maintained. We have invested in Guatemalan art for our rooms. Among the amenities, we give guests a bracelet woven in a traditional way, to promote the craftsmanship of our community. Likewise, we give them some reusable bags, manufactured by Creamos, an association of mothers who have come together to achieve financial, emotional and physical stability.

 

Two more houses are under construction, both in the historic center of Antigua: Kuxtal Nest, ideal for small families or couples looking for a romantic getaway, and Kuxtal Tercera, for a small group. We want to keep growing.

 

We are proud to be generators of employment, to be part of the engine of domestic and international tourism, and to share the natural, historical and artistic beauty of Guatemala. We want to continue receiving you in our homes to tell our story together.
